About Lincoln

Lincoln welcomes all students! The schoolwide goals include promoting a positive school culture/climate, improving attendance, decreasing behavior referrals, and increasing student achievement.

Vision Statement

Lincoln International Studies School will provide an academically rigorous, structured, literacy-focused learning environment where all students strive to meet high expectations while acting responsibly, staying on-task, always caring, and being respectful.

There is a schoolwide MTSS/PBIS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support/Positive Behavior Intervention Support) Program at the school to promote positive behavior. Students that exhibit positive behavior are able to participate in monthly ROAR (Responsible, On-task, Always Caring, and Respectful) celebrations and make purchases at the ROAR Store with ROAR tickets that they earn.

Programs and services include ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education, morning and afternoon sessions), full-day kindergarten, full-day PEEP (Great Start Readiness Program for 4 year-olds), a YMCA after-school program, bilingual/ESL services provided by highly qualified staff, tutoring, and mentoring. Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo coordinates the 21st Century After School Program and a variety of academic and health services at Lincoln. Various community partners provide support to Lincoln students. There is a Pathway to Potential DHS program at the school and the DHS worker coordinates services for families. Lincoln has a dedicated and committed staff to make sure that all students are successful.
